During your time in the RN program, you’ll explore your identity as a nurse, learning about the critical role nurses play in patients’ healthcare plans and creating a culture of safety and inclusivity as you work in both UB’s Skills and Simulation Center and clinical settings throughout the greater Bridgeport area. These hands-on experiences will provide you with opportunities to practice your nursing skills, incorporating safe and appropriate use of the nursing process and patient care technology.

Key features of UB’s Nursing Skills and Simulation Center include:

  • Laerdal Sim View System and patient simulators (Sim Man 3G and Sim Mom)
  • Access to manikins (Nursing Anne, Nursing Kelly, and Nursing Kid with Sim Pad System)
  • The Community Health Room, which features a computer control room and two-way mirrors
  • A Pyxis machine and console
  • Ten total patient beds
  • A theatre-style lecture hall for a comfortable classroom experience
  • Video equipment to record and review your practice sessions
